Post Basic Infection Control

Overview

The ‘Post Basic Infection Control’ professional development course, from DSH Institute of Technology, is one of the most reputed qualification in Malaysia. DSH Institute of Technology is one of the very few institutes in Malaysia which conducts this course and the program is claimable via the Human Resource Development Funds (HRDF).

 

The ‘Post Basic Infection Control’ is a six month program designed to prepare an already registered nurse for specialization in the field of infection prevention and control. The program consists of a combination of classroom and laboratory activities as well as clinical placements in government and private healthcare settings.

 

At the end of our ‘Post Basic Infection Control’ course, at DSH Institute of Technology, nurses will be able to :

  1. gain comprehensive knowledge on disease transmission processes, common
    infectious diseases and current evidence based infection control and practices
  2. be equipped with hands – on experiences, through clinical placements in private of
    public healthcare settings, in managing and preventing outbreaks.

Registered with the Medical Nursing Board, Malaysia
Possess current 'Annual Practice Certificate' (APC) for nurses
Minimum TWO (2) years clinical working experience in healthcare settings
Medically fit and free from disabilities that hinder nursing dexterity
